1. WHEN SHOULD THE TITLE “ROCZNIKI GLEBOZNAWCZE” BE USED, AND WHEN “SOIL SCIENCE ANNUAL” WHEN CITING ARTICLES PUBLISHED IN OUR JOURNAL?

Due to the change of the journal title, questions have arisen regarding the correct form of the journal name in bibliographic references. In order to standardize citation practice, the Editorial Board recommends the following:

  • When citing articles published between 1950 and 2012, the journal title in bibliographic references should be given as “Roczniki Gleboznawcze – Soil Science Annual” or abbreviated as “Rocz. Glebozn. – Soil Sci. Ann.”, e.g.:
Kusińska, A., 1991. Transformation of organic matter in soils of greens and parks of the Łódź city. Roczniki Gleboznawcze – Soil Science Annual 42(1/2), 101–107.
  • When citing articles published from 2013 onwards, the journal title in bibliographic references should be given as “Soil Science Annual” or abbreviated as “Soil Sci. Ann.”, e.g.:
Prokof’eva, T., Gerasimowa, M., Lebedeva, I., Martynenko, I., 2013. An attempt to integrate the systematics of urban soils into the new Russian soil classification system. Soil Science Annual 64(1), 24–29.

2. HOW SHOULD POLISH SOIL CLASSIFICATIONS AND SYSTEMATICS BE CITED?

In order to standardize bibliographic references, the Editorial Board recommends citing Polish soil classifications and systematics as presented below.

In articles written in Polish
Polish soil classifications and systematics should be cited as follows:

  • Polish soil classifications and systematics should be cited as follows:

The Polish titles provided in parentheses may be retained or omitted, depending on editorial needs. In the text, the classification should be cited, for example, as (Polish Soil Classification, 2011) or abbreviated as PSC (2011).

3. HOW SHOULD THE PARTICLE-SIZE CLASSIFICATION ACCORDING TO PTG 2008 BE CITED?

The PTG 2008 particle-size classification should be cited as follows:
